PMP Application Virtual Class FAQs
1. What is the PMP Certification?
The PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a globally recognized credential awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI). It validates your knowledge and experience in leading and managing projects across different industries.
The PMP certification demonstrates your ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, stakeholders, and teams while working toward project objectives. It covers predictive, agile, and hybrid project management approaches.
The PMP is suitable for experienced project professionals who want to validate their project management expertise, strengthen their professional credibility, and pursue career advancement.
2. What are the eligibility requirements for the PMP certification?
To qualify for the PMP certification, you must meet PMI's project management experience, education, and training requirements.
If you have a bachelor's degree or higher: You need to demonstrate 36 months of project management experience.
If you have a secondary diploma or equivalent: You need to demonstrate 60 months of project management experience.
If you have a bachelor's or postgraduate degree from a GAC-accredited program: You need to demonstrate 24 months of project management experience.
All this experience must be accumulated within the last 10 years.
You must also complete 35 hours of project management education or have the CAPM.
Meeting these requirements is only the first step. You must also document your experience correctly in the PMP application.
3. How do you fill out the PMP application?
The PMP application requires you to document your education, project management training, and experience leading and managing projects. The experience section is particularly important because your descriptions must clearly demonstrate your project management responsibilities.
When completing the application, ensure your project descriptions are clear, accurate, and aligned with PMI's requirements. Avoid simply listing tasks; explain your role and responsibilities in managing each project.

4. Why might PMI reject your PMP application, and what is the PMP application audit?
PMI may reject an application if the candidate fails to demonstrate that they led and directed projects or if their project experience descriptions are unclear.
You can read our article on How to Avoid a PMP Application Rejection to learn about the most common reasons for rejection.
Additionally, PMI may audit your PMP application to verify your experience. Audit selection is generally random. To pass the audit, you will need references who can verify your experience and documentation to confirm your educational background.
